Using Every Part

Brianne and Zach make an emphasis making sure to use every part that they can, if a bike has broken rims but other good parts they will salvage the parts off of the ruined bike and use those to fix other bikes that may need those parts.

Biggest Challenges

Time and Finances are the biggest challenges that Brianne and Zach face, it is only the two of them and another friend of theirs, and they combined to give away over 100 bikes last year as well as repairs, if people need a new sprocket or other part Harrelson’s Bikes For A Cause will fix it.

Heartwarming Stories

Brianne shares insights on the appreciation expressed by both adults and children upon receiving bicycles. Over the past year, they have distributed approximately 50 bikes to adults, highlighting the profound gratitude from those who rely on these bikes for essential transportation to work, due to the inability to drive or the lack of a car. Additionally, she recounts the tale of a college student from the area whose car malfunctioned. This student was delighted to receive a purple Schwinn, a bike she had longed for since her childhood.

Future Plans

Zach and Brianne aim to create an app designed for volunteers to register their assistance. This app will allow users to detail their experience, enabling Zach and Brianne to appropriately assign bike repair tasks of varying difficulty based on the volunteer's skill level. Additionally, they plan to produce instructional videos that cover minor bicycle repairs, including fixing chains, replacing brake pads, and addressing general wear and tear.
